WELCOME TO TENNIS
At Shipbourne and Plaxtol Tennis Club
We have two all-weather courts and a comfortable pavilion on Shipbourne Green and offer a warm welcome to all, including beginners and former players seeking to return to the game. The club was formed in 1972 when a group of tennis enthusiasts restored two derelict courts on Shipbourne Green.
Age is no barrier. Retired people welcome. We offer free coaching for juniors, and coaching can also be arranged for older people.
Our longest established group, the TUESDAY LADIES, is now open also to men and plays every Tuesday afternoon, summer and winter. Just turn up at the courts between 2pm and 5 pm, join in and make new friends. All are welcome in this most friendly club.
We have Club Times on Thursday evenings and Sundays when members play together.
All members purchase a key to the courts and pavilion on joining and can book times to play with their friends.
Membership costs only £47 a year for a whole family, Adults pay £22, Retired people £16, Students and unemployed £11, Juniors £6 and Guests of members £1 a day.
Shipbourne and Plaxtol Tennis Club is mainly for social tennis, although we do have a team in the local Villages Winter League.
